Alright cuties. I really am looking into the pacific northwest in the next year or two. Looking for big or close to big, without getting all of my shit stolen all year, and I’m looking for green and I’m looking for a lot of youth. If I can afford somewhere in Washington, great, otherwise Oregon is great too.
If you’ve got insight you hit me up.
After Seattle and Portland, Bellingham, Oly, and Eugene are all pretty popular second tier cities. Olympia has a 24 hour coffee house that looks like a goddamn pirate ship inside. It’s alt as shit there, but it’s a pretty small town.
Eugene and Bellingham are a bit bigger, but still not quite big… I live in Bham and it’s totally affordable and absurdly laid back. Doesn’t feel like a huge city, but it definitely has character and it’s nice being on the water. It also puts you within an hour of a lot of cool shit like Vancouver, Mt. Baker, San Juan Islands…
Portland is pretty great though… I couldn’t quite afford it but I would definitely live there. There are also the Seattle satellites like Bellevue and Redmond, which would probably have more of a big city vibe than the three I mentioned. But they’re not cheap. Actually, you can live anywhere along the Sea-Tac light rail and be in downtown Seattle within like half an hour for like two bucks. Don’t know anything about Tacoma, or any of the other Oregon cities.
Anyway, your blog is rad and so is your music.
